In 2004, sculptor Gary Lee Price , creator of the Statue of Responsibility and holder of its copyrights and trademarks, visited Elly in Viktor’s study. She held the model of the statue in her hands, recognizing in its upward-reaching clasped arms the very essence of Viktor’s message. Price also showed her a wood carving Viktor had cherished, “The Suffering Man,” deepening the emotional resonance of the moment.
